Book Blogger Hop & Follow Friday (8)

Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Jennifer at Crazy-for-Books. In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and share our love of the written word! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs to read! So visit Crazy-for-Books to grab the logo, post about the Hop on your blog, and start HOPPING through the list of blogs that are posted in the Linky list there!

This week's question:

"Many of us primarily read one genre of books, with others sprinkled in. If authors stopped writing that genre, what genre would you start reading? Or would you give up reading completely if you couldn’t read that genre anymore?"

Most of what I read is YA, but I used to be a fairly eclectic reader. If YA disappeared from the market, I'd read more paranormal romance, epic fantasy, and literary fiction or spinoffs from classic stories. I could never give up reading!

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and Allison Can Read. Visit either of their blogs for complete rules of the following fun!

This week's question:

"Have you ever wanted a villain to win at the end of a story? If so, which one??"

It could be the late hour, but I can't think of a book like this! I do remember reading some stories where I ended up liking the villain more than the main character though. There's just something about a sympathetic villain...

What are your answers? Please leave a comment or a link to your blog!

  4. I could never stop reading either! I'd probably move to urban fantasy if YA were to disappear.

    Have a great weekend!

  6. Yea, I know what you mean. I had a similar answer. I like the misunderstood villain, but I typically don't root for the villain. New-ish follower :)

  7. New follower here, hopping through!

I could never give up reading either! I think if fantasy and paranormal YA writers stopped writing, I'd have to read more contemporary fiction.

  8. New follower. So many people are saying paranormal. I read a bit of paranormal but not too much. If YA disappeared I would most likely pick up reading it a bit more though.

  9. I read a lot of MG and Tween but from all sorts of genres. There are so many different things to read even if new books in a favorite genre stopped being published. Please come see what I would read.

  11. Yay for paranormal romance (it's totally on my top picks after dystopian and contemporary YA). It's hard to think of the stories with the interesting villains. I had the same problem. Love the blog design!

  12. I want to get into more paranormal romance--I haven't read much, but the few I've read I've enjoyed. Here's my hop, if you want to stop by.
